“God gave you a gift of 84,600 seconds today. Have you used one of them to say thank you?” – William Arthur Ward
In today’s fast evolving world of people argue that etiquette no longer matters, that the rules for good behavior are old-fashioned and out of date. However, good behavior and manners can never run out of style. In a world sans etiquettes people would demonstrate disrespect for each other, insults, dishonesty, cheating, relationships getting spoiled would be on the rise.

Etiquette should not be merely taken as a set of guidelines for politeness and good manners, the kindnesses with which we should always treat each other. It should be taken as a way of life. As Etiquettes always matter!
We all that one person who speaks out of turn, says the wrong thing that creates an awkward moment, asks rude questions, or never allows anyone else a chance to speak. Being around such a person can be nerve wrecking. Don’t become that person!
Acquiring the skill of a good conversationalist requires learning some fundamental guidelines and practicing them.

Take a PAUSE
Before you open your mouth to speak, stop and think about what you are going to say. Too many people speak before they think, and when the words come out, they don’t convey the intended meaning. Pause a moment to allow your internal filters to take over. This may make the difference between being considered a good conversationalist and others thinking you are boorish.

Pay Attention to SIGNALS
Imagine you are having a conversation with one of your friends and you notice that :She yawns! She stops making eye contact! She stops responding! .
If you continue talking long after they have mentally zoned out, you may find yourself alone,. The instant you realize you’ve said too much, take a breath and give someone else a chance to talk.

Be a great LISTNER
One of the best ways to have people thinking you are good at conversation is to listen to what they have to say. This shows your interest in them, and they are more likely to show interest in you when you speak. Give the other person your undivided attention. Try to talk in terms of your listener’s Interests giving honest and sincere appreciation to them. Do not forget to make proper eye contact with them. Texting or constantly checking your phone for messages – No one wants to feel that the phone is more important than the here-and-now conversation.
Good manners can mean the difference between success and failure in many aspects of life. Knowing and exhibiting proper etiquette is essential to any civilization. So do not commit the blunder of being or acting impolite on the pretext of trying to look strong. Remember Etiquettes are a STRENGTH!

• spread positivity
• bring people up instead of dragging them down
• treat others the way you wish to be treated”
