It can be rightly said that in order to achieve personal improvement goals, a good action plan is very much needed. The consciousness of an organization cannot be changed without changing the consciousness of the people working within the same.
In order for the action plan to work and give satisfactory results, firstly we need to concentrate on the quality of our life. Secondly there should be congruence between our thoughts and actions. Thirdly, action should be based on self awareness. Fourthly, in order to be self aware we should think about our priorities and accomplish them. Finally, in order to recharge ourselves we should nourish ourselves with spiritual wisdom and meditation practice.
Truly said, a good action plan make goals happen.
A good action plan maps out the work process with detailed schedule of activities needed to accomplish the goal. It helps in providing a timetable for activities determine the resources required and identify your key areas and anticipate problems properly. In order to make a good action plan you should clarify your goal within the constraints such as time, money and other resources available. Then you should write down a list of actions that you need to do to achieve your goal, cross the items that are of less significance. Now organise your list into a plan. Lastly, execute your plan to achieve your goal.
One needs to develop their personal development plan based on their dreams, desired values, beliefs, achievements, disappointments and education. To develop personal development plan, following steps are required to be followed:
Step 1:
Brainstorm your life purpose and your goals and objective: Everyone should be clear about their purpose of life. One should list down all their goals and objectives .After listing the goals and objectives, 1 should prioritise them and label them according to the time required to accomplish the same.
Step 2:
Focus on your one year goals: Your goals should satisfy the SMART criteria (Specific, measurable, attainable, realistic, time based). Everyone should group their goals under the following categories such as financial goals, business goals, personal relationship goals, health and recreational goals, personal development and growth goals. After deciding the type of goals one should prioritise them.
Step 3:
Develop action plans for each goal: everyone should break down their plan into workable individual task along with the completion date for each task. Some of the goals may require assistance of other people. These tasks are to be assigned to different individuals who can assist you with your plans.
Step 4:
Repeat steps 2 and 3 for your 3,5 and 10 years goals: some dreams require long time to be accomplished. One needs to convert these dreams and desires into specific and defined individual goals with time frames. One should review their goals from time to time to ensure that they are on the right track. One should also revise their plans to discover what the progress is and are they lagging behind or not.
Step 5:
Now you have a combination of a goal with a plan. One should immediately focus on the highest priority goals, should work with commitment and self discipline and document ones’ progress in a diary and make adjustments if required.
Finally, you should celebrate your success and achievement by rewarding yourself.
